«Erasmus+»: an important seminar

Today at the West Kazakhstan agrarian technical university within the framework of the international project «Erasmus +» a seminar began on the topic «Improving postgraduate education in the field of sustainable agriculture and agrosystems of the future (SAGRIS)».

The seminar began with the greeting of the participants by the chairman of the board-rector Askar Nametov in the conference hall of the university, where he noted the importance of this event and wished them success in their work. In addition, he stressed that Zhangir Khan university has a high potential in training specialists in the field of agriculture and the development of science. Therefore, participation in such an international project as «Erasmus +» certainly places a great responsibility on the West Kazakhstan university.

More than 20 doctoral students and developers from universities of Kazakhstan take part in the block seminar, European and Russian partners connect online. The program of the block seminar is rich, it provides for master classes from European scientists, classes from module developers from universities in Kazakhstan. All classes will be interactive. During the block seminar, participants will also be able to get acquainted with the activities of the SAYAT ethno-tourist center, they will be told and shown the work of the university veterinary clinic for the implementation of the project «Services for keeping and deworming, identification, sterilization, vaccination of stray dogs and cats around the city», the work of the laboratory ichthyology and aquaculture as part of a project to provide fish farmers with fish seed and much more.

The goal of the «Erasmus+» project is to improve the training of postgraduate and doctoral students in accordance with international quality standards, as well as the desire to provide fundamentally new knowledge used in making effective decisions to solve the problems and challenges of sustainable agriculture and agrosystems of the future. In total, 5 universities in Europe and 4 universities in Russia are involved in the project, 4 universities from Kazakhstan participate, one of which is Zhangir khan university in Uralsk.

One of the project objectives is the development and implementation of 4 modules for doctoral studies in 8 universities in various regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, which are aimed at improving the quality of doctoral training in interdisciplinary content and approaches relevant to agricultural research and innovation.

The work of the seminar will last until July 1 within the walls of WKATU.
