The structure and content of educational programs of doctoral studies

1. General information

 In ZKATU Zhangir Khan successfully introduced a multi-level system of training through bachelor's, master's, doctoral (PhD).

Post-graduate education, including training in magistracy and doctoral studies, in accordance with the Law of the RK "On Education", is the highest level of the system of continuous education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Scientific, personnel, educational, methodological and information, material and technical support of the educational process at the university guarantees the possibility of qualitative mastering by graduate and doctoral students of educational programs of specialties, their fundamental scientific and pedagogical training; allows you to effectively carry out research activities.

ZKATU named after Zhangir Khan carries out preparation of doctors of philosophy (PhD) and doctors on the profile in accordance with:

1) Classificator of specialties of higher and postgraduate education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) The state compulsory standard of postgraduate education. Section 2 Doctoral studies (Government Decision of August 23, 2012 No. 1080 as amended on May 13, 2016 No. 292)

3) Typical curricula of specialties of doctoral studies;

4) academic calendar;

5) individual curricula for doctoral students;

6) working curricula;

7) educational programs in the disciplines;

8) an individual work plan for the doctoral student.

Training in doctoral studies is carried out on full-time basis on the basis of state order.

In addition, it is possible to study in doctoral studies on a fee basis:

- for foreign citizens;

- at the request of universities, research institutes, enterprises and organizations;

- in profile doctoral studies at the request of employers.

2.2 The PhD training program has a scientific and pedagogical orientation and involves fundamental educational, methodological and research training and in-depth study of disciplines in the relevant areas of science for the system of higher and postgraduate education and the scientific field.

2.3 The educational program for doctor training in the profile assumes fundamental educational, methodological and research training and in-depth study of disciplines in the relevant areas of science for the national economy, social sphere: education, medicine, law, arts, services, business administration and defense and national security, law enforcement.

2.4 The doctoral student is trained on the basis of an individual work plan, which is drawn up under the guidance of scientific advisers.

The individual work plan of the doctoral candidate is compiled for the entire period of study and includes the following sections:

1) FTI (it may be updated annually if necessary);

2) research, experimental research work (subject, research direction, timing and form of reporting);

3) practice (program, base, timing and form of reporting);

4) the theme of the doctoral dissertation with justification and structure;

5) the plan for the completion of the doctoral thesis;

6) the plan of scientific publications and internships, including

foreign ones

3. Structure of the educational program of doctoral studies

includes two components: educational and scientific, determining the content of education.

3.1 The educational component of the doctoral program includes:

1) theoretical training, including the study of the cycle of basic and profiling disciplines;

2) practical training of doctoral students: various types of professional practices, scientific internships;

3) intermediate and final attestation.

3.2 The scientific component of the educational program is formed from the research, experimental and research work of the doctoral candidate, scientific publications and writing a doctoral dissertation

3.3. The research of a PhD student must:

1) correspond to the main problems of the specialty, on which the doctoral dissertation is defended;

2) be relevant, contain scientific novelty and practical significance;

3) be based on modern theoretical, methodological and technological achievements of science and practice;

4) based on modern methods of processing and interpretation of data using computer technology;

5) be carried out using modern methods foreign ones

4) based on modern methods of processing and interpretation of data using computer technology;

3.4 The EIR of a doctor trained in the profile should:

1) correspond to the main problems of the specialty on which the doctoral dissertation is defended,

2) be relevant, contain scientific novelty and practical importance,

3) based on modern achievements of science, technology and production and contain specific practical recommendations, independent solutions to the management tasks of the complex

4) to be carried out using advanced information technologies, 5) to contain experimental and research (methodological, practical) sections on the main protected positions.

4.3 Graduate profile the doctoral school may engage in scientific and pedagogical activity only in cases of mastering the disciplines of teaching and pedagogical practice. This cycle is mastered during the academic period, after which he issued the corresponding certificate to the basic diploma.

4.4. The doctoral student has mastered a full course of theoretical training of the educational program of doctoral studies, but have not fulfilled the research component provides the opportunity to re-learn the components of scientific credits and the dissertation in subsequent years on a paid basis.

4.5 The doctoral student has mastered a full course of theoretical training of the educational program of doctoral studies, but not protected within the prescribed period, the doctoral dissertation, extends the term of doctoral studies on a paid basis.

4.6 Practice is carried out with the aim of forming practical skills in scientific, professional activities

The educational program of doctoral studies includes:

1) pedagogical and research practice for studying the program of the doctor of philosophy (in the amount of not less than 3+2 credits);

2) internship – enrolled in the program profile of doctoral studies (5 credits).

Teaching practice can be carried out in the period of theoretical training from the educational process, the students may also be involved in teaching in bachelor's and master's degree.

Practice doctoral research is to study the latest theoretical, methodological and technological advances domestic and foreign science and consolidate practical skills of application of modern methods of scientific research, processing and interpretation of experimental data in this thesis.

Production practice of students is carried out to consolidate the theoretical knowledge obtained in the learning process, and professional development.

Content research and production practices determined by the topic of his doctoral dissertation.

4.7 In the framework of research work of PhD students (EIWD)and individual educational plan doctoral students to familiarize with innovative technologies and new industries require scientific internship in scientific organizations and/or organizations of the corresponding industries or areas of activity, including abroad.

4.8 Final outcome research, experimental research work of a doctoral student is a doctoral dissertation.

Subject of doctoral thesis is determined based on its relevance, not later than two months after admission to the doctoral program. The direction of the dissertation research, as a rule, should be linked to national priorities or state programs or programs of basic or applied research.

4.9 The main results of scientific researches of the doctoral student must be publishedin a scientific, analytical and scientific-practical journals in accordance with the Rules of awarding academic degrees and academic titles approved by the competent authority in the field of education.

4.10 The doctoral student within two months after admission to guide the doctoral thesis is appointed scientific management.

Scientific leadership and research topic of the doctoral student on the basis of the decision of the academic Council are approved by the rector of the University.

Scientific management of doctoral students for the degree of doctor of philosophy (PhD) carried out by consultants in the amount of not less than 2 persons appointed from among doctors or candidates of Sciences or doctors of philosophy (PhD), one of whom is a scientist from a foreign University.

Scientific advisers may be persons actively engaged in scientific researches in the field of Sciences (in the specialization).

4.11 Control of knowledge, skills and competences of doctoral students is in the process of their final assessment.

Final examination the doctoral student is carried out within the deadlines specified in the academic calendar and curricula of specialties in the form of passing comprehensive exam and defense of the doctoral dissertation.

The doctoral thesis includes the preparation of the thesis, its registration and procedure for the protection.

4.12 In case of positive decision of the Committee for control in education and science MES RK according to the results of the examination to persons who have fully complied with the educational program of doctoral studies and successfully defended his doctoral thesis is awarded the degree "doctor of philosophy (PhD) or doctor on the profile" and diploma of the state sample with the Appendix (transcript).
